In the final week of Term 2 the Mock Trial team played Hunter School for Performing Arts; we won 313-303. This time our team was the plaintiff in a civil case of negligence. Our case was to prove an owner of a dog was liable for injury caused to our client a postal worker as they entered their property. We were successful in winning the trial on both points and for our client.
Congratulations goes to our team for an outstanding team effort and giving up a lot of your valuable time to prepare these cases, learn scripts and write pre-trial notes. It is a great achievement for the team to be winning the past three games.
Thank you to ex-student Paul Kelly for assisting with the preparation and giving our students last minute legal advice about the case.
The San Clemente team has just found out that our overall rankings after the first 3 rounds we placed 7th in the state out of 152 other NSW schools. Our next game will be against Gloucester High in two weeks’ time, this will be elimination rounds and we hope we can keep up our winning streak.
