Girls Rugby League

U14 Doves

Another great day of Rugby League at Raymond Terrace with the U14 Doves soaring high in the Female State Premiership, narrowly missing making the Semi-Finals finishing 5th.

We had chilly conditions, however, that couldn't take the smiles off the girls’ faces. Throughout the day there were some great hard runs and powerful defence, with all girls ripping in and giving it their all.

We started the day strong with a dominant 16-0 win over St Pius Adamstown and continued our winning streak with an exciting 16-4 win over Rutherford High. We then played Maitland High and after a tightly contested game, we unfortunately went down 8-0.

Requiring a win in our final game we played St Joseph’s Aberdeen. The girls were unlucky not to finish with the win with the scores ending with a 16-16 draw in what was an exhilarating game.

Although we were unable to progress to the finals, the girls should be extremely proud of themselves as they left everything on the field and demonstrated great sportsmanship and passion for the "black and white."

With a little more practice and fine tuning, the girls will now begin their preparation for their next tournament in Term 3.
