A great day was had by all last Thursday 13 February at the Year 8 Mathematics Inquisitive Minds Incursion. This is the first year that we have held the event at our school and it was exciting to see the Hall a buzz of excitement about Maths. Students participated in many activities solving problems and puzzles to win prizes. The students were wonderful representatives for the school and had a lot of fun with the competitions. A huge thanks to the wonderful Year 10 volunteers who assisted the students on the day.
An example of one of the puzzles:
Jennie the old sheep dog is lazing around in the paddock near the house. She counts the number of animals in the paddock. There are 11 of them, pigs and ducks. Then her eye runs over the legs. She sees 28 legs. How many ducks are there?
